Katie began her training at the age of six. It was then that she decided that one day she would open a studio of her own to inspire young dancers to achieve their dreams. Katie went on to receive a degree in Dance Performance and Elementary Education at Roger Williams University. There she had the opportunity to perform with The Dance Theatre, RIC Symphony Orchestra and at the American College Dance Festival. While at RWU, she trained with such artists as Kelli Wicke Davis, Gary Shore, France Hunter, Neta Pulvermacher, Sharon Jenkins, Sean Curran, Michael Bolger, Jenny Rocha, L’Antoinette Steins, Melody Ruffin-Ward, and Tiffany Mills. She completed her dance practicum at Providence Academy of International Studies. Before opening KC Dance Expressions in 2012, Katie was an elementary school teacher and taught at various dance studios. Katie has choreographed for the Ice Theatre of New England and is Acrobatic Arts Module 1, Aerial & Back Handspring, and Acrodance Pre School certified. When she isn't teaching, she loves spending time with her son, Benjamin. Katie is excited to share her love of dance with her students!

ALEX BRANDY
Guest Teacher
Alex Brandy, from Clinton, CT, is a choreographer and dance instructor for several studios in the New England area. Alex has been dancing since the age of 3, and went on to obtain her Associates Degree in Dance at Dean College. Alex has danced professionally for companies and dance teams including Boston Community Dance Project, Connecticut Sun Dance Team (WNBA), and Black Wolves Dance Team (NLL). Alex just wrapped up her fourth season as a New England Patriots Cheerleader and second year as a line captain for the team. Alex is so excited to dance and create with the awesome dancers at KC Dance Expressions!

Kellie has been teaching dance for over 12 years. She received her B.A. in Dance Performance and Education from Dean College School of Dance in 2007, graduating Summa cum laude. While at Dean, she performed as a featured dancer under tap great Maurice Hines and as a part of their elite Dance Company. Kellie was also accepted into Alvin Ailey’s Independent Study Program in NYC. She created Dance with Energy (Weymouth) in 2008 and continued to direct the studio until 2012. She continues to be a full time instructor there. Kellie's choreography has earned numerous regional and national awards. Most recently, she has trained with Acrobatic Arts excelling in proper acro teachings. In her spare time she enjoys being Mommy to Mason, Natalie, and Mila. She is looking forward to another season with her students at KC Dance Expressions!

KENZIE FINN
Guest Teacher
Kenzie Finn is the founder and artistic director of Project 31, Boston's visceral contemporary dance company. P31 is focused on creating movement that is free-form, fluid, and for-all-eyes. Kenzie began her dance training at Center Stage Dance Academy in Plymouth, MA. At fourteen, she transferred out of her local high school to pursue intensive dance training at the Boston Arts Academy. At the BAA, she had the opportunity to work with professionals such as Ina Hahn and Sean Curran while also broadening her range of dance styles and understanding of movement concepts. Upon graduating, Ms. Finn began work on her B.F.A. in dance choreography at Long Island University's Brooklyn campus where she trained under Dana Hash, Elizabeth Goheen, Kim Jones, and Colleen Thomas. Kenzie has also studied at the Regional and National High School Dance Festivals, as an intern at the Bates Dance Festival, and as a scholarship student at The University of the Arts "Summer World of Dance". While in New York, Kenzie also became one of the inaugural members of the Calvin Wiley Dance Theatre in Manhattan. Since returning to Boston, Kenzie performed with Tribe, The Dance Company from 2005-2012, serving as the organization's operations assistant and coordinator of Tribe's workshop and masterclass series. Kenzie has also performed with Six One Seven Dance Collective under the direction of Kendra Heithoff, and as a member of Sasso & Company under the direction of Lacey Sasso. Miss Finn’s choreography has been shown at the Boston Contemporary Dance Festival, Southern Vermont Dance Festival, and The Dance for World Community Festival. In addition, she has self-produced four evening-length concerts since 2017.
Kenzie Finn is a passionate dance educator. She holds a BA in Liberal Arts from Southern New Hampshire University with a concentration in child & adolescent development. Kenzie has also done extensive study in the area of early childhood development. Her dancers have won top awards and scholarships to summer dance programs and universities. Kenzie is a certified Acrobatic Arts Instructor as well as a former Leap N' Learn master teacher. She has served as a faculty member at Center Stage Dance Academy, South Shore School of Performing Arts, Sandwich Dance Academy, and the Dance Zone at Tumble Time Gymnastics. She has been a guest instructor at North Quincy High School's Renaissance Dance Program, The Boston Renaissance School, and The Boston Arts Academy. Kenzie is currently on faculty at Milton Academy and teaches at local studios.

Director of KC Dance Company & Teacher
Catrina earned her BFA in dance from Adelphi University in New York under direction of Frank Augustyn. While at Adelphi, she performed works by Orion Duckstein, William Briscoe, Jennifer Kreichman, and Adelheid B. Strelick, as well as guest choreographer, Paul Taylor. During her junior year, Catrina was awarded the Lois Betts Endowed Scholarship for Dance 2016-2017. She has attended and performed at the American College Dance Association Northeast Conference in 2017 and 2018. Catrina has attended Boston Conservatory Summer Dance Intensive and Urbanity Dance Summer Intensive, where she had the opportunity to perform in Boston Contemporary Dance Festival. Additionally, Catrina has performed with the Julia Kane Dance Collective in the New York City Choreographer’s Forum. Currently a member of Joy Douglas & Company, Catrina has performed in numerous shows such as New York State Dance Education Association conference, Gibney Dance Center’s “I <3 GDC”, NYU Tisch Choreographer’s Seminar, as well as Sisu at Adelphi University. While dancing at KC she was also a member of the KC Dance Company. Maggie is currently a student at Springfield College studying Occupational Therapy with a minor in dance. Maggie cannot wait to share her love and passion for dance with her students!

In May 2020 Marian graduated Summa Cum Laude with National Honors in dance from Bridgewater State University with a BA in Dance Education. While at Bridgewater State University Marian served as Vice President of the National Dance Education Organization and was a member of the BSU dance company. Her choreography was also selected for three shows while at Bridgewater State University. Marian was a competitive dancer in high school and has won many awards for her choreography at both the regional and national level. It has always been Marian’s dream to one day open her own private dance studio and teach all different styles of dance including tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, modern, and contemporary. Marian has a passion for teaching dance and she loves to see her students grow in their love and appreciation for dance. She wants to remind all dancers to have fun and Just Dance It!

LAUREN GIBSON

Lauren started her training at two-and-a-half years old at her hometown’s local dance studio. It wasn’t until 2014 that she joined the KC Dance family, where she spent her last five years of dance prior to graduating in spring 2019. Two of those years, Lauren was a member of the studio’s company, performing in numerous competitions and expanding her dance experience. Today, she is in her second year at Bridgewater State University where she is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in dance education while minoring in social welfare. She hopes to apply her educational studies to dance/movement therapy practices and contribute her future conducted research findings to the specific fields of interest. After one year as a general member, Lauren currently serves as Public Relations of the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) at BSU and is also a member of the BSU Dance Company. She has worked collaboratively with dance department faculty members and other students in the choreographic processes showcased within college-level performances such as BSU’s Winterdance (2019, 2020) and Pops! (2020). For the fall 2019 Winterdance performance, she was cast in the piece Sushumna Nadi, which offered her the opportunity to be part of one graduating senior’s thesis concert, Progress, Regress, Progress as a freshman. Although her favorite styles of dance are modern, contemporary, and ballet, she also has experience in areas ranging from urban hip hop to Latin social dances. Lauren is excited to spread her enthusiasm with the dancers at KC as well as help aid in the growth process and journey of each student she works with.

Isabel first started dancing at KC Dance Expressions in 2013 where she took tap and jazz. Since then, she has experimented with many different styles of dance, but jazz and lyrical are her favorites. She is captain of the KC Dance Company. Isabel
